777 Beech Review and Rating

777 Beech Condos, Lofts and Penthouses are a part of a mixed-use project that recently got approved by the San Diego City and Redevelopment Agency and will be located at the corner of Beech Street and 7th and 8th Avenues, just north of the historic El Cortez Condo complex in the Cortez Hill neighborhood.

The Planning Commission and a second review by the City Council will be needed before construction of these 108 contemporary Cortez Hill Condos, street level retail space and 158 parking spaces can take place.

777 Beech will consist of 17 to 18 stories that would include one, two and three bedroom floor plans that are planned by architect Safdie Rabines. All condos will have private balconies and the 5th, 7th, 9th, 13th and 17th floors will have private rooftop terraces. A three level underground parking structure will make out the base of the building.

As 777 Beech will be located right next to the El Cortez building and about one story short of it, it will block some of its view, especially the north facing views over Balboa Park. It will also mean that the El Cortez building will block some of 777 Beech’s view to the south.
